| The Queen of DJ BoBo's Heart |
If you're true DJ BoBo fan you certainly know Nancy, whose full name is Nancy Rentzsch. She was born on November 23rd, 1970 in Munich, Germany. While she was still in school, Nancy went to practice every afternoon in order to complete her musical training. This training included ballet, jazz and tap dance, acting and singing. All these helped her to be one of two dancers to be chosen from 2000 candidates for the ballet school of the Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung at the age of twelve. A lot of hard work and ambition and 4 years later, at the age of 16, she was picked for a role in the Elvis Presley musical in Munich. Later she worked for a lot of small roles on TV shows (like "Anna", a ballet series, and "Tatort" and "Der Alte", two German detective shows) and also as a model at fashion shows... In 1993, Nancy first appeared on the music scene as background singer and dancer for Haddaway. She met DJ BoBo at a Mega Dance Festival in the same year. From 1995 she is singing for DJ BoBo and has become a permanent part of his crew ever since. At the same time, she was part of the band "3-O-Matic". Nancy gathered international success with the songs "Success", "Hand in Hand", and "All I want is you". Next she started to sing in the band "2 For Good" and hit the charts with the singles "You and Me" and "I'll be waiting for You". In 1998, Nancy launched her solo career with "Enflame", producing hits like "Hold on to your Dream" and "Listen to your Heart". Nancy's job in DJ BoBo team is not only to be a singer and dancer. She's responsible about the design of the costumes for the shows and in picking up new choreographies. In fact the multitalented woman from Germany is an excellent manager, too. "I am a person full of self-criticism and moreover I am a tiny grumpy in the morning. However, I am a humorous person who loves laughing. The kind of humor I like best is the English one." What is DJ BoBo's opinion about Nancy? "...there are two things I really appreciate about her. On the one hand she is extremely funny, and I love her sense of humor. She is always up to pranks. On the other hand she is a really good listener whenever I need someone to talk to. Nancy has become a very important part of my life, not only because we work together but also because we have become real friends. I can talk to her about everything and I can trust her completely. And it is not easy at all to find a true friend nowadays, is it? " |

| The Interview |
When did you meet DJ BoBo for the first time? I met Rene in 1993. Actually, I do not really remember where exactly we first met. I guess it was in Konigswinter but I'm not sure at all... Tell us your favorite experience on stage. Last year right in the middle of a concert of the Mystasia tour 1999, the audience suddenly started singing "Happy Birthday" for me. That was really overwhelming. Tell us your most embarrassing moment on stage. The most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me wasn't actually on stage, but at the hotel after a TV show. The receptionist gave me the key for my room and I went upstairs. I opened the door, and there was the singer of Zucchero (Italian Band) standing in front of me only wearing his boxer shorts. I wished the ground would open and swallow me up!! However, the most stupid thing about it is yet to come: I was so confused that I said to him "Hi, are you okay?". He answered: "Yes, I am okay.", I turned round and left the room without saying one more word instead of explaining to him why I showed up in his room at all. Even now I can't look in his eyes when I meet him because I still see him standing in front of me in his underwear... What do you like most about the BoBo family? We are a team and we like each other a lot. Our motto is "all for one and one for all" , and that is so fantastic. The most beautiful present you ever got from a fan? I think there is no such thing as a "most beautiful present"; I got some very nice presents from our fans, and I know that those presents are really important to them. For this reason, they mean the same to me. The best thing is that we are all part of the huge BoBo family, and I think our fans can feel that deep in their hearts. I hope they know that they are an important part of us. Your favorite choreography? My favorite choreography is "Lies". |
